The Video Experiment
Informed Consent
Please read this consent agreement carefully before deciding whether to participate in this study.
Purpose of the research: To examine visual memory.
What you will do in this research: In the first part, you will do a brief visual memory test. On each trial, you will view a shapes, followed by a blank retention period, then a test shape. You will respond as to whether the test shape is the same or different as one of the shapes at the beginning of the trial. In the second part, you will watch an animated video. In the final part, you will have a quiz about the video.
Time required:Approximately 7 minutes.
Risks:There are no anticipated risks associated with participating in this study.
Benefits:At the end of the experiment, we will provide a thorough explanation of the experiment and of our hypotheses. We will describe the potential implications of the results of the study both if our hypotheses are supported and if they are disconfirmed. To receive copies of any manuscripts based on the research or summaries of our results, email vacognition_AT_gmail.com.

Confidentiality: Your participation in this study will remain confidential. We do not ask or store your identity. Data is stored on a secure Unix server along with IP addresses. IP addresses will not be released or published.
Participation and withdrawal: Your participation in this study is completely voluntary, and you may quit at any time without penalty.
